More stars please why no more stars I felt this deeper than 5 stars but there were no more to give I beg you lord more stars for Brooke!
I love this heart felt poem. I think this in my head everyday if I am out and see an old lady struggling to walk and a bunch of fools push past her or nobody offers her a seat on a bus it hurts me and make me so angry how she who was once as young as me has no respect from the people when she is wise beyond their years.
I love the line "For those who sowed their fields with seeds
but find their crops have choked on weeds" I feel sorry for the people especially when they are poor.
I don't know if you know but I lived in Macedonia for almost 5 years I just come back. I saw a lot of people unable to sell crops because of heavy rain or no rain or what ever and they try and sell what they can and you see how they live "I beg you lord" is just what they are thinking.
I think this poem has touched me even deeper than some others I first thought had because I have had a taste of it seeing Gypsies begging on the street in the rain and snow and Gypsy kids soaked throw to their socks and caked in mud they had no houses. Sod sad I feel your poem and wish it could be awarded more stars.

Living in Macedonia must have been a most eye-lifting experience - most people in this country truly never have witnessed true poverty let alone experienced anything approaching need. I so appreciate your generous and most thoughtful response to this poem - and I always appreciate knowing a poem has touched a person in this sort of way. Thank you, Brooke

A lot of people my age or even older people have no idea what life is about you need to see it to believe it. Even if it's not always pretty our life experiences make us who we are. I think send a few of the materialistic bimbos who are my age to a poor country they will cry to come home.
I chose to stay and embrace the beauty it had to offer. It's where a lot of my poetry was born. It is now proven send me anywhere and I can live but I choose to stay here in England in my nice warm bed and my nice clothes and have what I want to eat not just what I have to eat.
Life is beautiful for some and much harder for others I think everyone has to have a taste to truly appreciate what they have and what life is about.

So many struggle to no avail, but never give up. The true believers, the ones that really have the faith in their hearts. Great write. joan marie

Thank you, Joan Marie - you are so right - it is a true believer who retains faith without the big payoffs. Brooke :-)

I am left here with my mouth hanging open and at the end of each stanza I'm saying "yes", I also did the amen. Wonderfully written from heartfelt desire and concern for others. There are no nits with this poem, most enjoyable and a blessing to have found it today. Lora

A beautiful prayer. The final verse is very powerful for me. There is a generation referred to as baby boomers who has worked for several decades with a dream of slowing down in the twilight years. Some are going to find their sown seeds choked by briars.

You have such a tender heart for the less fortunate, and that shines through every line of this lovely, well-written poem. Nice rythmn, good flow, natural rhymes. I especially loved the metaphor of the crops in the last stanza. This was a wonderful reminder that we need to help those around us who are in need. Blessings, my friend.

Hugs,
Diane

What a beautiful, touching and deep poem, Brooke. It flowed so easily and rhymed well. I will join in praying, too many need it. A great poem/prayer, thank you.

This is such a powerful poem about praying to intercede for others. I loved it. You did a great job with it. I felt the emotion and the power. We should all pray for those who need help and I, know I do not pray enough for them. You've convicted me to start now. Thankyou.

Barbara, Thank you. Yes, I fear there are probably more people who pray for the winning mega-lottery number than for those in the most dire need - I am so glad this has moved you. Brooke :-)

Amen - how I'd like to give
this the six it so deserves,
but it won't let me.

This is such a heart-felt
prayer which I said through
twice, so the Lord will be
sure to hear it.

Goodnight and God Bless you, Brooke.
Margaret.
