Oh, you know how I love alliteration in poetry, Brooke! Nice.

I love the visual of dolphins as God's dancers piercing the water.

This is lovely. Great presentation - it makes me want to go to the beach!! LOL

Dear Brooke- -Dolphins are such wonderful , fun-loving creatures and you have given them that voice they seem to have in this delightful septolet. They are so joyous and did you not give credence to mirth in this post? How marvelous "God's rapturous praise dancers celebrate at sea". So jubilant is this write and the artwork, one has has to give a celebratory smile. This is unlike any of the others I've read and for that you are to be congratulated. Good luck in the contest. Rose of Sharon - thank you so much - have you seen praise dancing in a church? It is quite lovely. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Brooke :-)

Excellent poem and beautiful artwork. Well written. I love dolphins. All animals as a matter of fact. I enjoyed reading this. Great words and it has a much power as a long poem. Well done on this :-)

Brooke,

This is an excellent septolet (or whatever). I enjoyed reading it, and I couldn't find anything to criticize.

When I worked for the US Navy, I heard a good bit about dolphins used to hunt mines. They're very thorough, but they're slow, compared to less thorough methods.

Yes, it is a septolet :-) Thanks, Dave. I certainly hope no dolphin was ever injured using them that way!! Brooke

    Brooke,

As best I know, no dolphin has been injured. But when they took their dolphins to Korea for an exercise, one apparently went AWOL. When the crew counted noses, only seven dolphins showed up.

Next year, the dolphins and their handlers went back to Korea. This time, at the end of the exercise, nine noses showed up. Apparently, Willie had found a girlfriend, but things had not worked out.

Riotously raucous,
Their songs are loud but hold such joy.

praise dancers
celebrate at sea.
I love watching dolphins surge from the sea as if in an eruption - a sense of true freedom.

Thank God for dolphins, I do love their faces. They look as if they are constantly smiling.

Helen - yes, they do erupt from the sea - in one of my many versions of this poem, I had them exploding from the sea. That was one of the many versions that never quite panned out for other reasons. LOL Thanks so much. Brooke :-)

Boy, Brooke, you have these creatures pegged just right. When I was on my honeymoon cruise, these beautiful creatures would follow the ship. There would be ten or twenty on both sides of the ship. Truly a glorious site.
Thanks for getting me to think about it again.

I generally skip all the spiritual stuff but since this was yours I decided to read and review. I love dolphins and enjoyed this one. Praise dancers... is that like break dancers? And why are they celibate? oh, wait.. that was celebrate. Nicely done, my friend. Love the artwork also.

You should take a peek at praise dancers on you tube - not all that much like break dancing. LOL Cute little mix up on celibate and celebrate - I don't do the religions that are into celibacy - always thought that was such a waste!! LOL
Thanks for breaking your own non-spiritual rule :-) Brooke

Brooke!
I so appreciate the imagery of your offering. The image of dolphins as "praise dancers" is extremely fitting and creative. A very beautiful and well-crafted offering. diane

Brooke, this is truloy a special poem. Not only is the contest criteria very strict, it's also very difficult. I think you have done wonderfully well. I will be astounded if this lovely septoloet does not win!
Warm wishes and hugs
