I am named after that plant too :) Except my parents went with Sharon Rose because they thought it flowed better than Rose Sharon. My parents took it from the Song of Solomon.

Israelis have told my husband that now they consider this a weed though.

I love hummingbirds, we see them from time to time here.

Great job on the poem Brooke.

Anything purple is good in my book! I loved this poem, and I could visualise the hummingbird. Amongst all of her owls, my Nan had a little gold hummingbird which clipped onto curtains, lampshades, etc. Cheers. :)

Once again, I am forced to take notes. A lesson along with a poem, is like going to English class. I like humming birds they are probably the most fun bird to watch fly and feed. I always enjoyed the times going to the bird house at the zoo and watch the humming birds. It reminds me of the time Melvin went and started humming a new song about the little birds he saw in flight. hmmm hmmm hmmm. you can sing along to the rest of it if you like. Mike

Considering the constraints of the format, and the imagery you used, I'd say this poem succeeds in your attempt, managing what you were striving for. Good stuff.

Hi, Brooke. Nice verse--beautiful artwork. I have had Althea trees (Rose of Sharon) almost every where I have lived in the states. Presently, have four of them.

Have you read my verse, "Hummingbird Love?"

Have one posted now, I think you would enjoy.

Take care.
Rob
