Jannypan: excellent descriptive words of dawn. You give credit
to the creator of the sun by He, maybe, use God. Wonderful
photo and movement of words. flylikeaneagle

As I say for all well written religious poetry: it doesn't mean anything spiritual to me, but it clearly does to you, and that's all that matters. You write out of clear admiration, and you do it well.

I love the well-written list of adjectives that can easily put the reader into the mindset of this awed person viewing something so ordinary and daily as a beautiful thing in its simplicity and in its unseen beauty.

Good luck in the contest!

Hi Jan,

That picture is gorgeous and advertises your message well. Great syllables in each line to form the nonet. I like the, "night's velvet curtain" part. That's a terrific visual :) Your words form a nice shape on the page.

Best wishes in the contest.

Joy xx

This is a beautiful poem and a perfect Nonet. I haven't read many Nonets lately and must admit I miss them. Brooke wrote many and this one is superb as were hers.

That's a clever take on the nonet, which, to be honest, isn't one of my favourite forms. You use the diminishing line lengths to great effect here, focusing in on the essence of the (beautifully described) experience of dawn. It's all well done, but the most powerful word of the piece, for me, is "moment" - both its placement and its effect. This has to be a strong contender in the contest. Well done!

Nice form here, I like the way wound in on itself, spinning faster and faster like a skater in a pirouette. The colors whirled around here, enchanting the reader, spinning a web of experience, a show put on by the Almighty for our pleasure. estory

Earth presents undulating waves
of colors--ebbing, flowing,
swirling, twirling, ever
evolving spectrum--

When I first read this I thought it said, Presidents

If you do that the poem could be describing President Trump.
