Wow! Michael from sonnets to stories to tableau...you amaze me. Do you sleep or spend time sailing with your wife? I told Dean that you made the wolves come alive in your Julia story...so well written. Congrats on this life story tableau. Kept me reading about the ages and stages.
I discovered that "Amazing Grace" is iambic pentameter at a funeral tonight. So wonder it was easy to sing and everyone's favorite. So much to learn from the masters...you and Brooke and Honeycomb and Dean and Jesus. Sweet sleep...until later. Have fun in the contest. Another one..congrats on the awards.

I haven't checked the rules for this poem. I think they should be copied in the author notes so that the reviewer can check easily.
It reads well to me. It definitely is a life time in a poem. Many situations with birth and birth, and then death. The circle of life. Nice work.

I'll do that. They usually have them in the contest announcement before the author notes. Since they don't, I'll add them as you suggest. It's supposed to be six lines, five syllables per line. each stanza should paint its own picture. One or more stanzas. Glad you liked it. Thank you! mikey

A very successful tableau, an accurate evocation of the most important stages of life. Your lyrics make me think of the sparks of life in time. The entirely "tableau" may be more complicated and hardly visible entirely but it's good that you left to us, the readers, the pleasure to intuit the normality placed in a frame.

So much of live is a continuous repeat but then, sometimes it's not. This poem takes a man through decades of his life as time moves on. (And much too fast, as I see it)
