Teresa;
this is a very well written metaphorical piece of poetry with the object of attention is definitely depression but written in a very poetic way.
This poem describes and expresses the feelings of depression through a metaphorical imagery: "I fall into the shadows of my soul dying of darkness(alliteration) Helpless. Alone. Weary. I weep no more. Too much. Noise.
Send. Pain. Poisonous pain.(Alliteration)". Expresses like this show a deep depression and having a hard time digging oneself out.
Your reflection on the past depression is truly wonderfully stated in this poem. I can relate.
Thank you for sharing and posting and I hope you and yours have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Shadows of My Soul.' I don't really know what depression is like and wouldn't know what to do if it should grab hold of me. Well done.

Very deep contrasts. Changing moods. A kind of ominous foreboding. But then with Jesus, it is 'all clear' again. May be it just goes to show that God is within and will always be there.

'Shadows of My Soul' is an extremely well-written and thought-provoking piece. Jesus always saves those in need. It was a pleasure to both read and review this poet's work.

Teresa, Depression is always on my ledge and ready to push me into it, but I've learn to fight it. It can be done with determination and Jesus. Nice work. Carole

I think depression is the work of the devil and we need to stay strong in Jesus. I'm learning:) Thanks for the great review.

Good job, Teresa, with your free verse poem about Shadows of your Soul. Your descriptive words flow down the page like you are sliding down a cliff and then rescued by calling out to Jesus.

Yes. This was a roller coaster of a ride. Bullets. Despair, grief, yet light and understanding.
The blue background paints the mood, yet there is a stand off. underlying hope, carried through by your faith in Jesus.
Best wishes,
RG
