As a person who could never live far from the sea - I really immersed myself in this poem. Whales have such beautiful souls. It is so sad to think about the whaling ships off our coast hunting these defenseless animals to extinction. Your Rondeau (a form I particularly love) does these gentle souls much justice. Rose.

Many a man and probably woman have been drawn by the mysteries of the sea. I have heard those mournful sounds on a documentary and they really do touch ones soul. Thank you for sharing.

absolute spell binding words and artwork
the way the words speak you can hear the sounds of the sea and can almost picture a soul reaching toward it and entering it like it were a heavenly haven
"beguiled to learn her mysteries" you're not wrong there
yes, I have a tape of the whales and it is astounding how they communicate and the noise sounds like it is reverberating around the world
