I wish I could offer up 100 stars for your author's notes alone!!! So compassionate and a wonderful explanation of your feelings of the tragedy of 9/11 and how it affected you. Great piece. Hugs and smiles, Susanne

Thank you, Susanne - I am so sorry this thank you is so late - some reviews just got buried under newer ones - I feel so impolite. I truly appreciate this most gracious review. Brooke

From beyond to beyond. good use of the double meaning there, my friend. I liked this one. It was another good example of building in the first half of the poem and then ending in the second half. good job- sam

Brook,
The poem and the picture are so fitting for this day. I liked the way you started with the word beyond and ended with the same word. You are so talented.

War takes no mercy on anyone and leaves unhealed wounds no matter who is affected. You poem is a fitting tribute to 9-11 and every other person who sacrificed their life in the name of peace. Very well done.

This is a very nice tribute to all lives lost in wars or 9-11. My friend lost her son in 9-11. Terrible. Very timely with your dates and postings.

How awful to lose one's son - there are quite a few people from Pennsylvania who commuted to NYC and lost their lives, but nobody close to me. Thank you for you thoughtful response, my friend. Brooke

What apt words for today, Brooke. Sometimes 'beyond' seems just out of reach, though.
I like that you dedicated to ALL who have ever passed on because of war. A sobering and loving reminder. Thanks for sharing,
Heather

Thank you, Heather, for your thoughtful comments and kind review. Yes, sadly, it is often just out of reach. Brooke

You write with such quiet passion,
with such emotion in the words that
are the tears for all who leave us
much too soon.
For all who have ever seen death
where it was because of man's
inhumanity to man, your words carry
the sadness that remains in the heart
and soul forever.
As always, beautifully and emotionally

What a beautiful tribute to the fallen on all sided of war. I so wish war and terrorism was not part of our life. Shoot, I wish we only knew of peace. Boy, am I a dreamer or what? Great poem.

Comment from Juliette Chamberlain
Excellent poetic commentary on the barbarity of war.
Will combatants ever see beyond embattled lines, and will leaders ever want to reach out for that balm of perfect peace.
Oddly your poem made me remember the story of when the Geramn and British troops, crossed the line and came together for one occasion; Christmas day.
They sang together 'Silent Night.'
Is this wistful thinking?

Thank you, Juliette - I've heard that and similar stories before - I think if things were left to the "common man" wars would dry up - it's those in power who screw it all up. Brooke
