Nice Haiku. I love winter mostly because I live in Arizona. Summers are way too hot. But there is just something incredible about spring time. rejuvanation and new growth,. Nicely done. -Phill.

You had a bit of humidity this year, we don't talk about that until it gets over 90 percent. Lower tempeture, but you really feel it around you. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike

What a beautiful traditional Haiku. It has all the elements of a perfect haiku, it is about nature, good break between the first and second lines, and excellent satori in the third line. Good luck in the contest, sounds like a winner to me!

Thank you very much for your wishes, the compliments and this review. I wasn't planning to enter as it was expensive, but in a very short time this was born. I love being able to overlay meanings using nature. Mike

This one is one of those strange things. I wasn't going to enter, then a concept entered my mind, then I found an ideal illustration with the FS Art search engine, then the poem constructed itself. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike K2

Missed your writing... Well, after this year and the way peolpe have been, less then upfront and avoiding, using then discarding. I think a hopeful message is needed. I really don't want to start writing the way things really can be. lol

Thank you so very much for the compliments and this review. Mike

I believe so Mike I think it did fit the requirements. I don't do haiku but I think this is alright. I love the line awaiting spring, it gives some feeling of hope.
Nice work Mike.
Much love,
Justmade.

Thank you very much for your compliments and this review. I always have to try to incorperate that element in my poems that speak of love.

And for just that reason there is a boom of births in the spring. I thought this was a very excellently written poem.

I read 3 sillibelles in line 1,
5 in line 2
and 3 in line 3 ...

I always thought Haiku was 5-7-5, but since I haven't read the contest, will not quibble.

MAYBE? line 3 might 'fit' better if:

Longing Spring
or
Waits for Spring

???

Best of luck in the contest voting! XO

Dear Lea Ann, I believe that a Haiku can be 5-7-5 or 3-5-3. I did look it up on line and it seems that only 5-7-5 is mentioned, but I think I cam across a book that also memtions 3-5-3. My reference books in the house churn through the piles as if a roiling sea. The example that Alvin uses is a 3-5-3 in the rules. But then Wikipedia also mentions the difficulties with English verses Japanese Haiku due to the vastly different language. Oh boy...

I am very happy with this one and my word choice on the last stanza. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike K2

Beautiful haiku, with all specifications met.
Your artwork is astonishing... setting the stage for the beautiful words.
Autumn is my favorite season. This is a multi-seasonal haiku, which is also great.
Well done.
