I believe that this is the way it should be in a relationship, I would always like to have the stability of really knowing and depending on certain things in a relationship, yet have a little nuiance come forth, that I could appreciate every day. Thank you very much for your generous rating, the compliments and this review.

What an original and beautiful concept! I very much liked how you used the theme of lace-making as a surrogate for love-making---all the twists and turns, ins and outs in a relationship.

This line made me smile: Left on their own, they would spin
out in some corner, a dust filled cobweb. :)

Excellent!

Thank you for sharing with me your favorities, the compliments and this review. I didn't necessarily think of that, but yes, love-making is part of a good relationship. It fits in well with the theme.

This is a lovely poem.

I really enjoyed the metaphor of a life long relationship creating something so beautiful as a piece of lace, especially from all the crazy twists and turns life throws at us.

Thank you for sharing :)

I have heard the metaphore of a relationship being a tapestry, but it seemed to me that they are a lot more straight forward. I felt that lace was more creative. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike

Hi Mike. Again I like the opening stanza, and the closing too. It's interesting how you relate the art of weaving lace to the development of feelings between two people. You always include extensive notes that help readers see the meaning to the poem better. Spotted this in it:

She did this out of love, more [then] money - than

Thank you very much for the correction, the compliments and this review. It seems that readers perfer this and I get better reviews as people have a better understanding on how things relate. The one member who really improved my poetry was Miluska, but her writing intimadated me and it actually took study to understand. When I gained that uderstanding, it was like a blind man seeing. I feel a far cry from her, but I love that style and I think many people benefit from those notes.

I love Mila and her work too. Been a fan ever since I first joined here. Yes, at times hard to decipher, still her style has been much enjoyed.
    Let's pray for her recovery.

Mike K2, what a beautiful picture and wonderful poem. My husband's grandmother and my great-grandmother (whom I never met) both did lace work. I was fortunate enough to inherit a fair amount of their work. It is amazing handwork, for sure. Only one little piece of spag for you below.

each others life. >> each other's life. (lives) -- I'm thinking it should be lives but I could be wrong.

I did change that. Thank you for your compliments and this review. I think today there are too many distractions that prevent people from gaining at various skills. TV especially, I set the recorder and save it for when I truely need a little break.

Very beautiful peom and presentation. I love the way you compared the sharing of a life together to the stitching of lace. Perfect picture you found as well. Very lovely love poem.

I never really thought about the intricacies of lacemaking before, therefore I learned something from this poem, and you comparing it to love made a good comparison. I like your style of writing. Thank you for the detailed author's notes, they were very interesting. I'll have to go check out some of those sites! I enjoyed reading the poem and thank you for sharing with us, Mike.

Yours,

Luna *smile*

I was so impressed that is why I decided to credit and include them. I knew a little bit about it, but needed to go back and research the specifics, an effort well worth it. Thank you very much for your compliments and this review. Mike
