How good it is to have something or someone dependable to lean on when times get tough. Acceptance of what the fates throw our way is a fine cornerstone from which to move forward. Acceptance is, I think, quite unlike fatalism, which is a defeatist attitude suggesting no possibility of change.

Thanks, Tony, for this insightful review. You call them as you see them and you are right on. Acceptance is positive and incurs growth. Depending on dependable people is always a good idea when you are in need.
Take care,
Jesse

Very wise and insightful Jesse. Acceptance does bring peace, and a renewed joy in life. We all move from full dependence at birth through to independence then back again to dependence in some measure. And we can all be dependent on God the ultimate dependable One.

Thank you, Wendy, for your insightful review. Just as you say I am insightful so are you, my friend. We all are dependent on someone. And yes, acceptance brings peace.

Another fine and heartfelt poem, Jesse....having to rely on other people is a reality for both of us, and in some ways the worst part, at least for me

I choose happiness, it is a choice you know, Mike. I didn't used to believe it but now I am sure of it at least for me.
Acceptance brings peace, my friend.

Hello, Jesse!
Right you are!
And each day you become stronger and stronger.
To be dependent on the dependable involves trust and courage.
You possess both.
Thank you for sharing, Jesse!

Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
This is a reconciliation with your own fears and self-esteem. To acknowledge the help that is proffered willingly and dependably enables us all to move on in freedom. We all resist help sometimes out of misplaced pride or embarrassment. But the truth is, the giver of that help is rewarded as much as ourselves. Your revelation here in such succinct and moving words is a joy to read, Jesse. Thanks for sharing your fine and relatable verse of acceptance. Take care Debbie

Thanks, Debbie for your encouraging review. Yes, I've come to accept the dependency of my life as it stands now.
As for the future, it is too soon to tell.
Let's hope for the best!
Take good care of yourself,
Jesse

I really like your opening line, it is where so many of us stand.
Accepting what we can't change does free us. For what else can we do?
Your simple poem says so much.

I have never had to depend on anyone Jesse and I suppose if I was in your position I would feel differently. You have found special people you can depend on and that is wonderful, a fine post, love Dolly x x x

There's a lot of peace and wisdom in your poem, Jesse!!
We are so adverse to becoming dependent but in reality we started dependent and end dependent and in-between we were dependent on God whether we admit it or not. We are at peace when we accept it.

Nice one, Jesse. No one gets through life without assistance. It can come in many forms, but we must be willing to admit we need the help and accept it graciously to be happy. We are most free when we love ourselves just where we are. Progress stems from there!

We don't like to be dependent on others but accepting that is helpful and sometimes it's a stepping stone to move onward and to being free.
I always enjoy your writing and hope you are doing well.
Blessings

Thanks, Janet. I like how you put that stepping stone to move onward is a progression in motion. The second part was my invention.
Thanks for the blessings,
Jesse
