So here I am a NYS resident, born and raised, yet had I ever heard of this woman until my friend from across the pond wrote a brilliant poem about her? No. I. Had. Not.

Honestly, where am I HIDING while everyone else is learning and growing with important life lessons??? Thank you for awakening me to this remarkable soul!

And, at the risk of sounding redundant, your talent for perfect rhyme and meter ever single week never ceases to astonish me. With most members' poems, I read tentatively, afraid I will encounter rhythmic snag after snag after snag. With your work, I just read with abandon, knowing I can savor it all on the first read.

Oh wow, Elle, thank you so much! I thought you were off doing tax things. This is so kind and deeply appreciated. I loved this woman. Her amazing brain just kept on leaving me stunned. This has to be a snapshot therefore (I couldn't keep up with her!). One verse she wrote ("Power) about the killing in of an 11 year old, unarmed black boy (who was running away) by an undercover police officer who was later acquitted by a jury of 11 white men and 1 black woman is powerful beyond words and a must-read.
