It looks as if things are beginning to heat up. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery.

It's too much trouble for a painting, but it's a family heirloom, so...? I guess Shana is thinking that it's not worth risking their lives to get the painting back, which makes perfect sense...and yet...Anderson seems up to the challenge.

It's too much trouble for a painting, but it's a family heirloom, so...? I guess Shana is thinking that it's not worth risking their lives to get the painting back, which makes perfect sense...and yet...Anderson seems up to the challenge.

The painting was stolen from Shana's family by the Nazis during WWII. She was innocently trying to get it back when all of this happened. Thank you for the kind review.

I think Shana feels like she is being left out of a plan that pertains to her safety. The group is just trying to protect Shana, but she feels that it is too dangerous. Another great chapter.

Anderson and others in the household are so protective of Shana. They seem to be trying to spare her details of their plan to use Jeremy to try to get information about what the Russian Mafia's interesting in the painting might be. Shana doesn't want anyone to be put in harm's way on her account, which is admirable. However, Anderson is the only one with the resources to be of help. I agree with Shana that she should be informed about what's going on. I love this story and the characters. judi

The investigation of the painting reemerges as the central theme in this chapter as Jane's second-cousin twice removed Jeremy emerges as a possibility to do undercover work inside the Russian mafia to solve the mystery. I agree with Anderson: "If we're not careful we could all be in serious danger. That's why I wanted time to consider our options." In hopes of maintaining and growing her connection with Anderson as people decide what to do next, Shana's eyes met Anderson's. "I hope this 'we' includes me."
I found only two SPAGS: "He's an un(der)cover cop for the NY(PD)." If he was an uncover cop, he'd be nude which might not be bad. : )
