Thanks for sharing this awesome presentation! Shedding light on a fear
many poets have reading or reciting their poetry due to common stage
fright, compared to all those you noted over came far more ominous
challenges than mere stage fright! Assuring and enlightening, and
a vital message shared.
So often, those with serious challenges and conditions are the ones
who teach us the most about courage, bravery and perseverance. All
the ones you witnessed certainly did and then some!
I hope your friend overcomes her fear someday and does try it.
Very informative and appreciated read.

who cowers in the audience at open mics
who fears the voice whispered through quivered lips
unable to amplify the voice shouted within'
a powerful message for the poet who has a face, yet has no voice.
This reminds me of the ones i've spoken to who suffered with Eating disorders... Who lacked the voice, which screamed inside them... and they often too it out on themselves, because they couldn't find the voice to say what was eating them.
I found this (especially these lines) to be a resounding voice in itself. Well played, poet... well played.
I enjoyed it to the last curtain.

Yes, to witness what these poets went through to share their voice--sign language or talking computers, wheeling on stages that are accessible, crawling on stages that are not--empowers me to push myself to share my work by any means necessary. Surely poetry is an oral art form and needs to be heard. How else can we hear the cadence sing. Is not the sound of it, the living pulse of the piece. More importantly how can the soul, or 'Duende' be released? We are not talking about anything intellectual or sentimental. -Ekim777
