I liked this very much. Your interpretation is heartfelt, in both colour and emotion.
A lovely depiction of a scene played countless times within all walks of life and through all ages, but one remains above all.

Beautiful flow of words in your poem. As a parent that has lost a child I cannot understand how God did not destroy everything that day. I know Jesus died for us - however, if listening to his cry - Father Father why have you forsaken me - am thinking this mortal soul would have pushed the button.
Still, the last line of your poem: When loved ones grieve, it rends the heart - is heart wrenching for so many of us!

Thank you for the kind words about the writing, AT. I have often wondered how the Father felt that day, even knowing it was for the best in the scheme of things. I know it would take someone far stronger than me to resist stepping in. I appreciate your insights on the subject. I am sorry to hear of your loss. Children are so precious.

I have often wondered about that verse. I think it was the human part of Jesus showing. He knew what his fate was long before that moment. Your poem is perfectly written. I wish I had a six for it. Great job.

You put forth an area of the crucifixion seldom put forth. Yes, the Heavenly Father grew angry over His Son's death and that is shown by the darkness and destruction of the area by earthquake. Tremendous emotion comes through in this poem. Hugs, Maggie

Hi Debi,
I love how you put yourself in God's position, contemplating how He must have felt. As mothers, we want our children to always be happy, but know they have to learn difficult lessons to grow wise and strong.

This is a deep thought spiritual poem. Revisiting the agony of Christ on the cross at Calvary. No parent will ever turn away from the agony of his child. Wonderful rendition.
