Wonderful parody by the queen of FanStory writers who has the perfect muse to amuse. Great pic, wonderful word selection ...as always.

Brooke, this gave me the warm fuzzies and a few giggles thrown in for good measure. I love 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' and you put a delightful twist on it that gives light to a less-often talked about side of Christmas. I had to laugh at the things you wrote about the man digging through the trash. He sounded just like the garbage collectors! You did an excellent job with this piece. Too bad it wasn't for a contest - it would fare well, I'm sure.

Your beautiful and heart-felt poem is a parody of one of my favorite Christmas poems. I suppose there are times we should all feel guilty if we don't share the bounty we've been blessed with. Give and it shall be given should be a mantra we say each day as we go about our way. That is the perfect balance.

This is a very creative and humorous retake on the old Santa poem with a surprise twist and heart-warming ending. In 3rd stanza would it be good to insert "but" between "couldn't help" and "ponder"? In second to last stanza how about dropping the word "till" and ending the line before with a semicolon?

Great job once again with this timely and profound message of helpfulness towards others who are much less fortunate than we are. Well done again.

This is a wonderful poem. It is also truer than it should be. How often people are not thankful for what they have, or what they have received. Wishing you all the best in the holiday season.

Brooke, I'm assuming there is some truth to this sweet poem. It is always a blessing to stop and think about the folks who are less fortunate than we are. Your words and story lines are so creative and eye opening. I hope you had a happy day on Christmas. As always, I feel so blessed to be able to read your works of art. (I like to see Sawyer's pictures too!!!) Hugs and good wishes to you for the holidays and forever. Carole

A beautiful and touching Christmas story. How true it is that most of us have too much, while some have too little. I always try to do an extra good deed at this time of year--I may not have a lot, but to many it would be heavenly. I have learned since my accident that riches don't come from material items. Thanks for sharing this and reminding me of this. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Best wishes for the New Year, my friend~Debbie

Hi Brooke,
my second attempt at writing this review before my computer drops out from the site... again!!

What an inspiring story weaved into this wonderfully constructed poem.

So poignant, considering we live in such a throw away society. All of the clothing that remain in draws, wardrobes that never get worn... all the blankets that sit in cupboards scented in mothballs, when these articles could make someone else comfortable.

I loved the tone, the meter, and the message... this was my fifth read, and I don't tire of it one bit... one of the reads was to my wife Jade, she also loved it.

I believe from what I have read in the entries to this contest, this is hands down the best... and I must apologies for only rating this with a five star, when all it should be accompanied by is sixes.

All the very best in this contest... always a true pleasure.

With our thoughts we create,
loving thoughts,
James xx

Thank you so very much, James, for your gracious and encouraging comments and for your taking the time to review a second time - I hate it when I lose a review to internet space. LOL Thanks also for sharing this with your wife :-) Brooke
