A.,

I imagine you are interested in the top place in articles here? I'm not QUITE sure what the purpose of this post was -- is it merely to warn us to stay on our guard in this crazy world?

And unusual post. Thank you!

possessions safe and secure(d) - I think it would read clearer with it as safe and secure with a comma after secure - rewrote it below :)

possessions safe and secure,

Don't live a paranoid- possibly consider revising as below:
'Don't live in paranoia'

acquire, inherit, (get) or obtain. - I think 'get' and 'acquire' mean the same thing so removing the 'get' might help this read a bit less choppy :)

You can't see, forecast(,) or predict the future.

Very insightful piece with an essential word of warning and purposeful effect. We need to be alert and aware, but not obsessive ... excellent message. I made a few revisions above and will come back and upgrade once revisions are accepted. If not, it's all good. The write is very insightfully written. Thanks for sharing this.

You certainly are right about this well-justified advice.

Particularly in highly populated areas, cameras and even microphones are all over. If you have these in your residence (smart phone, computer, even a television), hackers can access it (or them) to watch and/or listen to you.

Also, ANYTHING associated with Google spies on you (their search engine, their Chrome browser, their gmail service, YouTube, etc.) for the purpose of creating a profile on you, your health, your activities, and your buying habits for sale to advertisers and other nefarious purposes.

Furthermore, many smart phone apps can access the GPS feature to track your whereabouts in real time. Many smart phones NEVER fully turn off unless you remove the battery, which is difficult in some.

China has developed powerful face-recognition software for its ubiquitous cameras in cities, with the ultimate goal of tracking EVERY citizen (and visitor), wherever they may go (and whomever they may associate with).

The new trend to "Smart Meters" (whose transmission frequency actually can interfere with your heart rhythm and may do permanent damage) can track your electricity usage; and, in conjunction with "smart" appliances, can track your activities at home, such as when you do laundry, cook, or even open the refrigerator.

All of this technology is the ultimate dream of both tyrants and villains. Big Brother really IS watching, listening, and tracking beyond even what George Orwell imagined in his book, 1984.

Yes, we should all beware, especially as fauxtography and misquoting (by selective omission) can deceive others into believing someone has done or said things deserving punishment of some kind.

We live in dangerous times none of us expected.

This piece really speaks of the possessiveness of people, how much we cherish this sense of self we have in all the things we buy and attain in life. It defines us, in many ways. And it fuels our suspicions, our suspicions of the people around us. We are always locking up our houses, cars, phones; looking over our shoulders. It's a tense world. This is why Jesus said: "Don't store up things for yourself in this world, gold and silver and all manner of possessions, where thieves can break in and steal. Rather store up treasures in my Fathers' kingdom, where no thieves can break in and steal." He is talking about the need for DISPOSSESSION. For giving yourself away, and serving others. Very difficult to do. estory

So true, that we need to take heed of our surroundings because the possibility of people with not so honourable intentions might possibly have designs on what doesn't belong to them. I see this as speaking to envy that one horrible emotion that seeks nothing but to destroy that which it cannot have for itself.

Thank you so much for your generosity and you have a great day. :)

A very well-written piece about being careful about your personal life and belongings not to expose everything to others who are out there to steal and ruin another's life.

Thanks Alcreator for some good advice on being safe and keeping your belongings secured. However, I'm afraid, I don't find this essay moving forward. It says the same thing in many different ways. There are also some association and other grammatical problems. For example:

Protect, keep your precious person(s), life, property, belongings, things, documents or possessions safe and secured or under safe custody by yourself or others.

Keep you precious person safe and secured or under safe custody by yourself or others -- It seems awkward that one has to keep a person under safe custody -- you already said safe and secured. Also, wouldn't the safety of a person include protecting his/her life? Did you mean "...keep your precious person's life, property...: Besides, property, belonging, things, are somewhat the same aren't they?

Yeah, it's obvious that we should look after ourselves and our nearest and dearest. That's a natural thing. I just wonder if you are afraid of something? It seems a bit over the top, if I may say so.
All best. Ulla:)

Wow. The following paragraph of yours is very true and very inspiring:

>>You never know or no one tells you who will be cheated, molested, teased, adulterated, raped, kidnapped, hijacked, missing or murdered next or what will be lost, destroyed, stolen, robbed of, looted or snatched how, by whom, when and where. <<

Keep them coming!
