What a beautiful Ode to the butterfly. And a most beautiful golden angel the photgrapher has captured. So tiny and unassuming, yet one of the most beautiful of God's creatures!

I can see why this photo inspired a poem. It is simply beautiful.
This story-poem flows well. I like the contrast between the desire for perfection and the realism of the disarray. Also, good contrast between the narrator and the lady bug; one is too busy working to enjoy the butterfly's happy dance and the other is restful and open to friendship. It is a sad poem about a lost potential friend because of the cares of life. An excellent moral to this tale.
The rhythm feel smooth and everything else looks like it is in great shape.
As always, good work.

Laura, thank you - I wish I could forward your perceptive review to the lady yesterday evening who lectured me on how this poem was purposeless and meaningless. :-D Brooke

Brooke, I enjoyed this playful poem about nature and the busyness we find in our gardens. Sometimes we're too busy to notice the little details. Perhaps the insects would rather be unnoticed...and so they carry on without our prying eyes!
Thanks for sharing this well-rhyming poem with me.

So true that we get caught up in doing, and forget to just be. Butterflies and flowers are meant to remind us of living in present moment. I enjoyed the images of the busy gardener and the ethereal insects. Lovely rhymes. A fun read.

This was so cute to read!!! I think you did a wonderful job of tying together a poem with the picture. It told a wonderful tale with a very good lesson that everyone should heed. Life passes by in seconds, all to quickly for my taste, but it is what it is and because of that you need to enjoy every last minute of it. I hope your life garden is full of wonderful butterflies and no weeds:)
Jaded:)

I liked that this poem didn't have to get complicated to convey a nice image. I fell into the pattern of it without any noticed hiccups or tripping over any of the words.

thank you - you've noticed what I always try to do - write something meaningful without being obscure about it! Brooke
Comment from Lady & Louis
Lovely poem, Brooke, and it points its moral subtly rather than didactically, which is a bonus! I like the unexpectedness of the butterfly/ladybird meeting at the end (well, it was unexpected to me 'cos I didn't look at the photo first, lol).
No nits or suggestions, nice work!

Thank you, dearest friend - see my PM about subtlety! Almost everyone picked up on it, just not everyone. LOL Brooke
