This is a lovely septolet, Brooke, both for its construction and its imagery. We have daffodils and narcissi all around these Dorset parts, though Cornwall had them as early as February. Peter

Peter, thank you - I was at my sister's today, and she has quite a few daffodils, so that did my soul good :-) Brooke

Not bad at all for a daffadown dilly in a Dodge Dart. As usual you were able to bring beauty to life witha word painting.

Ah, yes. William Wordsworth did immortalize the daffodil with his lovely words. Northumberland was and probably still is full of daffodils. They love the Engish climate. Your poem is so upbeat and springy! It is a pleasure to read a poem with such vividand clever-worded imagery. Blessings, Linda

Great imagery cuts all through this tribute poem. Overall, not a single flaw to be seen. A good piece, to be sure, and though I'm not familiar with the particular format used here, nor the original poem being paid tribute, what you have here is a rather good piece.

Oh, please do yourself a favor and google wordsworth I wandered lonely as a cloud - it is not long and it is absolutely one of THE BEST poems ever written. And the form I've used here, the septolet, is a fun form to write. Thanks ever so much, Brooke :-)

Silly dancers, swaying in the wind, invisible pollen makes my eyes water! Achoo!!! Great job on this one. It needs the notes to make sense of it, but then, it's good.

I'm really surprised the site has not acknowledged this month that is celebrated in so many school districts, etc. Thanks so much, Brooke

I love daffodills, along with the crocuses. I can always smell the warm weather coming even if they show their faces in the snow. As always good job.

Dear Brooke,
I liked the poem and I liked your author's notes. Very well done since it gives the reader not only a good verse but a little history and English lesson all at the same time.
Warm regards,
Winslow

Ellie, thank you so much for your most generous rating and for your thoughtful review - I'm actually surprised this site has done nothing for National Poetry Month. I so appreciate this!!! Brooke
