Good job as usual, with this cinquain. I like that you always use some sort of structure instead of just going willy-nilly free verse. the quick rhyme in 3rd and 5th lines makes this stronger.

Hi, Brooke. You know I'm not a lover of author notes, but
'Religion should not divide us - to do good, to be kind, to live in peace with all - there is no religion that owns the rights to those things we all strive to do and be.' - is SO true, Bravo for that!
Your poem isn't my ideal theme, but, for what it is, it's lovely.
Best wishes, Ray xx

I'm sitting here, reading your author's notes, nodding away. If I believe in the god Conan (I don't, by the way, just by way of example ;-)), who will smite evil with the sword of my belief, and it leads me to help a blind person cross the road, or hold my temper when it's threatening to burst its banks, then it is worthwhile.
If I believe in Conan and it leads me to run the streets, striking down everyone who doesn't with the carving knife of my belief, that's a bad thing obviously, but that's down to me, not Conan.

I totally agree with you - if seeing pink elephants in the room causes someone to lead a life of charity and kindness and compassion, I can go with the flow! Thanks, Brooke

Such a wonderful poem about the history behind the day. You spoke of it with such eloquence, too.
I think you did a wonderful job!
Jaded:)
And I think you picked a better topic to write about today than what you first thought of as well:)

Beautiful poem filled with deep meaning for me also. I love your notes though. So true that no matter what one believes we should all pray for peace. Thanks, Jeanette
