No accountability hurts 'us' little guys (and women). It doesn't bother our government the 'banks' aren't using the bailout money as it was intended. Well written and your point made clear.

Thank you - yes, the little people don't seem to get bailed out the way the big wigs do, Brooke

It seems to be rolling along! No telling where the bottom is located. Circuit City is one of those stores that will realize after the fact (maybe) that it is not about quantity of goods sold but about customer satisfaction with the shopping experience (my opinion - they were v=never really good at customer service).

Hi Brooke....we have a Circut City store here and it is heart breaking for all those employees. I keep thinking we have seen the worst of this depression but I guess not....blessings....chey

AN odd subject for cinquain... but then, why not?, I ask myself... and it is a poem that tells much of our times. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure what makes an appropriate topic for a cinquain! LOL Thanks so much, Brooke

Ouch! This poem hits close to home. I know that I've been guilty of exhibiting glee over wonderful sale prices, oblivious to the financial worries of those employees who will soon be unemployed. What a good reminder to show compassion and awareness of others' pain.

Technically, this is in great shape. (Just like always!) I didn't see any spag and your word choices are good.

The illustration is a great choice. The people are all looking at the window displays, but not at each other. It seems that the material possessions available to them are more important than the people around them.

Well done. Laura

Yeah, I read about Circut City as well. We are all in a real bind here. I certainly have a lot of hope for Obama. Seems like he just might be smart enough to get us out of this national bankruptcy. This is a quick read that makes us all think. Nice job. Much Love, Dean

Dean, we are all counting on him so much - let us put lots of positive karma into the air in hopes he can come through! Thank you, Brooke

WHen one of us is hurt, our brother often bleeds. Your poem says this very clearly with a minimum of words. Excellent thought in this one with a touch of rhyme that doesn't lighten the core sadness of this piece. Blessings to you, Linda

Nice piece you have here. The author's note helps to make the meaning clearer. It is pathetic when people are denied their means of livelihood for no fault of theirs. The passion is well conveyed in this sattirical piece. kudos

And this happens so often now - people who've worked in a factory or a store for 25 years only to get dismissed when they shut down with hardly a thank you. Brooke

Certainly some pretty crappy news for quite a number of people. Too bad when this happens. SO many people affected indirectly too. Well done,Brooke. Always good to read,
David :)

No doubt, shoppers will jump on the many liquidation and bankruptcy sales! Personally, I hate shopping and steer clear of shopping mobs. LOL

A unique look at the awful mess things are in right now. LOL I enjoyed this poem, Brooke.

I go to our mall, the second largest in the U.S., twice a year when my daughter visits. Other than that, I make myself scarce. Thanks, Brooke
