Exceptional

This was terrific! And yes, the worms may or may not be offended. But I was delighted, both by your colorful word choices and the overall rhythm, which has a special kind of beat because of the longer last lines of each of the stanzas. Wiggly woe. That's hilarious.
I totally laugh out loud when I read your stuff.
I want to read more, but have to go
to wiggly squiggly WalMart to
buy me some panty hose! LOL

I love worms! They are so very useful. When I see them out of place in my garden, especially after a rain, and find them on sidewalks, I pick them up, and put them back in the soil where they belong. They enrich the soil with their droppings, and aerate impacted soils, and then if you break them in half, you'll have two viable worms. Cheers! Valerie

yes, I know about the useful stuff, but a phobia doesn't take the rational into account, and you talk of breaking them in half isn't helping either!! LOL Thanks, Brooke :-)

I agree with you and your many, highly detailed descriptions of those damn worms. Nothing freaks me out more than having one of those nasty little things slithering around. lol
Very well written, descriptive. Excellent.

thanks so much - your sonnets and formal poetry are so gorgeous, and then I come along with worms - I am touched that you don't think me completely loony. :-) Brooke

LOL dewpearl.
I have resisted reading this for a couple of days because of my phobia of earthworms. I totally "get" the puddle thing. If you ever notice a woman gingerly picking her steps on a wet parking lot it could well be me! Especially if she is trying to balance on one foot in order to take a great leap. lol. Excellent work. You must'v had the queasies writing it! fondly, rebecca

Hello Brooke,

What a vivid creation about worms. lol. I don't know what I enjoyed the most, your poem, or your notes. hehehe. They are hidious aren't they. I had a young cat who would wait in the window during the nightime watching for nightcrawlers. I quickly learned to wear something on my feet, if I got up through the night. Yuck! She graduated to mice as she grew, but lo and behold, she would eat the whole thing and leave the stomach behind, and yes, always in my home. Yuck! Yes, slippers or shoes became a definite necessity where I lived.

Yes, worms... I see them sometimes in my sleep kind of writhing around in the massed earth of my mind. The fact that I do see them is good though because I can see through the holes they leave. Is that sick or what? lol.

I think slimy slugs are worse, but there's a lot of bugs I don't like.

I loved the squilchy squelchy nature of the worm that squirms in and out of your poem.

Sleep well.

I am amazed when I see people swallow earthworms and then almost disgusted when they tell me it's healthy. I don't know how true that is and honestly I am not really bothered. This was alright.
Much love,
Justmade.

This was another wonderfully written poem. I liked the picture choice and matching color scheme.

I like the creativity in these poems.

Good writing. I don't personally have anything against worms, but the way you described them "yuck". Great job of relaying your feelings to the reader.

The fact you have nothing against worms is something I'm willing to overlook in light of your positive review :-) Thanks, Brooke :-D
