So cute!

It seems that you can switch careers whenever you want, Brooke.

People will be falling over themselves trying to get you to represent them.

In our household, a lot of blame fell on the cat.

Thanks so much, julia. Sawyer's mom was my champion liar, much better at it than her big brother. She blamed things on the gerbils. LOL Brooke

Really cute, Brooke :) that cupcake looks yummy. No birthday cake for me next month since I'm on this weight loss program. I hide from celebrations with food. August is a long time away before I can eat normal again. Woe is me. Great iambic lines in varying syllable counts. I counted 8, 7, and 6 line counts. Love your abcb rhyme scheme. A humorous children's poem. I see you opted for humor poetry as opposed to children's.

Joy, thank you. I never know what to label the poems as most can be one of a few categories. :-) I admire your will power, but you can't have even a little cupcake for your very own birthday? I hope you have some sort of low calorie treat! I appreciate your generous sixth star, my friend :-) Brooke

I am grinning and trying very hard not to hit you with the big "Awww" again. Brooke, it is just such a sweet poem, and the picture of Sawyer works so well1 He looks as if that's exactly what he's saying! :) LOL.

Thanks so much, Dawn - I've always loved the way kids will deny anything in the face of overwhelming evidence. Sawyer's mommy used to be a master of that. LOL :-) Brooke

The ideal poem for this sweet picture of Sawyer. I really enjoyed the way this read like a nursery rhyme, with skipping rhythm and perfect rhyming.

In every household there is always a Mr. Nobody. In this case Mr. Nobody got away with the cupcake, (almost) scot free.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much, Ann - all parents have had this experience, I'm sure. Sawyer's mother used to be a shameless liar. LOL :-) Brooke

This is one of your most amusing poems. That innocent denial is so common to small children and the expression on the Sawyer's face is a classic. Loved reading it.

Thank you so much, Pete, for your generous rating and thoughtful comments. I got the idea from his expression and from the fact he calls them "cuptakes." :-) Brooke

This is so precious and brings back so many fond memories of "No, it wasn't me" comments from my own children. The photo is just precious and the expression on Sawyer's face is priceless. I got a real kick out of this one. Excellent work with this poem and with a muse like Sawyer, how you could you miss?????

I enjoyed reading this poem, brooke, he looks so adorable and non guilty in that picture. I don't know how that cupcake got into my hands, lol. my mother baked a pound cake one day and my sister ate the crust off of it. my mother said, did you enjoy that? my sister said yes. my mother said you better be glad you said that. she wanted to pinch her head off, lol
