This is quite the interesting story. I would say the art was inspirational, too. I rather like the phrase "After much faltering" because translating between languages can often take several attempts to get things right. Very nice story here.

A very nice tale. And The ending does sound like real life miracle. It show s that even in the darkest of times and human corruption, there are sparks of human kindness, sacrifice and yes, even a human made miracle or two.
A very well crafted story. I can see this doing well in any cotest.

That's a sweet flash fiction story. I like how you framed it from the point of view of the American soldiers observing the miracle of the blind man caring for the baby. It helps to gradually reveal more of the story. Best wishes in the contest!
