This rondeau is perfectly done as i can tell by the notes and i truly loved the light and lively way you did the whole piece, as we have done it before. Excellently done

Thank you Barb!
Comment from Gloria ....
Ha, excellent idea for a poem, J. It's not exactly the easiest thing to remember all the names of absolutely everyone.
This is a fine rhyme, and since no set metre is required top of the line work.
A pleasure to read and review today. :)

Gloria, I am lucky that no set meter was required or I would have bombed miserably LOL

I enjoyed reading your rondeau. Your image and words pair nicely. Your lines flow smoothly with good imagery. I believe the rhymes are not in place as per the rules. A rondeau has rhymes in a specific pattern throughout the entire piece and yours doesn't fit that scheme. It doesn't take away your effort. However, you may wish to label this 'modified rondeau.' Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

What a melancholy, and yet touching Rondeau poem. I have never tried to write one, but you handled it beautifully and made it work well. You leave us to wonder how it worked out lol. Well done :)

A good romantic Rondeau. He sounds smitten seeing this girl and is not even sure if he knows her. I liked the rhymes and flow.
I am befuddled, what do I do?
Feeling as though I am in a stew
Time is waning, think hard and fast
Seeing you sudden will not last
Excellent picture and artistic presentation, great visuals and imagery.

I really like the rondeau. Yours is excellent in every respect--skillfully-composed, descriptive, conveying a powerful message about memory failures and the mortifying feeling afterwards! Love the humor

Janice, thanks a ton!

Well done expressing that dreadful feeling of "drawing a blank" when somehow we can't access that folder in our brain! If it's just the name we can't remember, the Scots have a word for that "tartle."
"I must a least offer a bon adieux" (adieu)

Hello JLR,
I believe, we all have had a memory loss (draw a blank) at some point in our lives. I've learned, it easier to man up and say, "I'm sorry, I don't recall where I met you or or something similar." It's ok, because it's the truth. This is a very good Rondeau French poem your wrote about memory loss and drawing a blank. Enjoyable read. I like these two words, "bon adieux." Goodbye forever!!! Thanks The photo used is a good one, also. Well-done. Happy writing:-)

I think we all have those moments when we meet someone by chance. We know we've met them before, but when and where was it. Do they recall the meeting? It can be fun or embarrassing, or just plain befuddling. You've captured the feeling well.

This rondeau, I Drew a Blank, has the proper formatting and runs through the worst problem, forgetting a name. It really is embarrassing.
