Hi;
another well written chapter filled with intrigue and mystique. I wonder if the showdown will go in Anderson's favor. I'm already looking forward to the next chapter, though I know you will be very busy,

May God bless you as your work with these evacuees,

~patty~

Sending prayers. Wonderful you can work with the evacuee kids. Bless you.

As usual, you nailed the closing hook. Good build up of tension. good pacing, dialog and characterization. just a few suggestions:

*and was ready for new customers,(;) the two men who had been watching from the bar occupied it.

*
As Maxim set the dinner plates in front of Anderson, Philip, and Jeff, another man(,) joined the four sitting at the next table.

* You two have forgotten your Texas roots(,) and Anderson(,) you own a huge ranch in Texas."

*
"I'm sure(,) for the correct amount of money(,) you will."

*"Oh(,) what the heck."

Warmly, rd

I am off today, because of Labor Day so I had time to add those pesky commas. Thank you.

Three against five is not very good odds. No doubt others are pretending to be spectators. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.

Hello Barb
I got so into this chapter and then you unexpected Cliffhanger makes it more exciting to see what happens after
Anderson whispered loudly, as they turned in unison and pointed their weapons at the five men.

Absolutely great work with this chapter. You are the Queen of cliffhangers and this is one is proof of that. I anxiously look forward to the next chapter which I anticipate to be as exciting as this one.

Hi, Barbara.
This was an interesting and entertaining chapter to read.
They are being followed, but they are prepared.
I'm looking forward to reading what happens next.

This looks like a typo:
Anderson placed his hand on this concealed weapon.
Did you mean...
Anderson placed his hand on HIS concealed weapon.
?

Wow, what a compelling chapter, Barbara. I hope Anderson does not get over his head but he is certainly proactive. This chapter kicks up the action a notch. The end was unexpected. I noticed Shana's absence but it is nice for other characters to drive the narrative in what is developing into a crime thriller. Quite engaging and imaginative.

Thank you for sharing.
