Hi Craig, let me just say this is so clever and I love satire. This is about as good as any Vonnegut shot story I've read--and believe me, I'm a huge Vonnegut fan. I thought this was an insightful look at how non-violence and peace can be a force for change. I found it interesting that the aliens gave up the "peaceful doctrine" so they could pursue more secular goals that satisfy their Id perhaps(like greed and power). Technically, the story is very polished and well-done. The jumps between time are clear and the elements of a story are there as well. Loved this and I hope it does well in the contest.

I must admit, I don't really ever read short stories (not that I've anything against them, I probably should read them, as I seldom have time to read novels either). I guess I tend to write short stories here (but moreso poems) because I don't have the patience or time for longer stuff.

You're very welcome and I can relate. I used to write short stories, but fell in love with poetry a few years ago. Now, I can't go back without force.

I thought this was an extremely well done piece of writing. I had no idea where it was going until the end. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the final sentence provided a great ending and left a feeling f hope. I hope you do well in the contest for your 'message' is a valuable one.

Brilliant! Take away the technology and virtually all of the boys' toys are immobilised. Peace at last! A nice thought in the present day political climate. I hope the alien craft gets here before Trump is elected!
