Being a fellow Aussie who lives close to "Straddie" I really appreciated the way you have presented this story. Your delightful choice of words and rich imagery made it a pleasure to read---and re-read. Great job.

This lady sounds like she was a loving and giving person who enjoyed children and teaching them. It sounds like knowing her enriched the lives of those who met her. Your poetry about her gave me the same feelings knowing my Gran did.

Such a fine write of this woman and her tribal knowledge. It shows us much love.
We watched tiny crabs scuttle past
Listened to currawong; magpie song
Beloved poet of our land
Legacy lives on - written by hand.
