Excellent descriptive detail of your dad that makes me feel like I actually met him
He sounds like a colorful and wonderful man
Love how you would find dimes after your dad died - what a poignant ending :-) Brooke

Very nice, justjo66, and I can feel the love. But I want to comment about your writing. Excellent. Especially your structure. You reveal your Daddy as a real and fun-loving man. You aren't overly sentimental. Then the bit with the dimes really works. I realize that this is true, but you showed real skill in the way you brought me to the dimes.
Fine work.

Peace, Lee

What a wonderful story you have dedicated to your father. When we lose a loved one, it's always good to know their spirit remains. I see nothing to change or crit.

I love the story and it words so well your love for your daddy. You paint such a family picture here with strong imagery. You also stay on focus about the dimes and how that came about. That you are finding dimes is just amazing. Merry Christmas!

That is just amazing. I kept running across letters from my mother, and the connection seemed as though she was saying the words of the letters, new again.

That's so cool. I think sometimes God just lets us have these "little" things.

Wow. This is beautiful. It reminds me of my wife's story of her mother sending her little things around the house, stories fall out of books and charms show up in drawers. Very cool story. Maybe they are watching us from above. :)

What lovely memories you have of your father. He sounds like a great guy to have known. It is totally obvious that you adored him and I'm sure in some ways that he thought of you as that little girl in the picture you used. My daughter is grown up now, but I can still clearly remember her having to clamber up onto my knee.
SPAG's - only two minor ones - 2nd line should be New Year's Eve and 1s line, second paragraph, is it the New Year of 2001/2 or 2002/3?
Other than that, it was a very warming story about a good man.

I am glad you liked my story. Your suggestions on SPAG's are appreciated and already been changed. :o) The New Year Eve second paragraph is 2001. My dad died April 2002. Thank you for catching this.

justjo, you've written such a touching story of your Dad. From your descriptions, he really must have been a gem, and how sad that you lost him so quickly. The fact that you keep finding dimes is remarkable, but you know he is with you.
Very nice job.
