You are clearly very passionate about this message and it comes across in a very exciting way in your prose. I love how it starts out with the affairee and the husband in the same room, this is classic scene writing. Perhaps work in some more little ironic jabs here and there, and give them a more dynamic action. Maybe Troy is cutting up an apple or something similar. Just some ideas, take them or leave them.

"All I can do is make sure he stays there long enough to let him know Anna means business and he needs to stay away from her. I think once she stands up to him, he'll back down. Bullies usually do. Before long he'll find another woman with a low self-esteem that he can beat up and the cycle continues."

This last line is a bit cold. Also, too many abusers never give up. Only want to hurt the spouse more for the rejection. They think of the spouse as thier personal belonging. I'm just saying.

trying to catch up on things. Great job

An excellent tale of battling an abusive relationship and it's true where you say that once she stands up to him he'll back down

To barbara.wilkey,
One is quickly drawn to the fact that Anna has been living with a lot of guilt and the role of Paul seems to soothe Anna's fears and allows more diversity in her life and by allowing the help of someone bringing confidence to prosper again in her life.

This was an interesting Part One, Chapter Seven to read about where Paul meets with Anna and tells her the latest legal situation with her husband Bobby, and Betty and Margaret take Anna to look at apartments.

Well, Bobby proved just proved how abusive he can become with that temper of his. Anna seems to have the upper hand now. Good. Glad she met Troy's family, and Michael is so friendly. He knows this is a happy family. All that legal red tape is a hassle, but I trust Troy's dad to make Anna come out nicely. This story holds important lessons about getting one's affairs in order, especially when relationships are unstable. I found this interesting to read as always.

Excellent as usual. I don't know of any changes that need to be made. You did an excellent job having Paul take her through the necessary steps of dealing with an abusive husband and getting out from under his control. I wish a lot of abusive women had as good of a resource as Paul is to her.

It would be nice if there were more Paul's in the world. Thank you for the kind review.

Your story line is a wonderful concept. It is one that needs to be expressed. I love the dialogue you create. It draws the reader into the emotion of the story so vividly. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to more. Paul

Nicely done. Dialog is done well, and very realistic. The scene with Anna and Paul moves quickly, and being unfamiliar with the characters it took a bit to keep up.

...with a low self-esteem... --omit 'a'

Thanks for a great read.

Hi Barbara,

Doing a bit of catch-up here. Good to see this story progressing, it appears that "Bobby" is one of those guys who will never ever learn.

As ever the dialogue is good, the details and the processes are well described. Obviously you've done your homework in researching the background for this.

Patrick
