Jan,

a really well written poem, dear friend. YOu chose great descriptives throughout and the ease with which the story flowed was wonderful. Great work.

I hope you and Lexi both feel better really soon, Jan - what a beautiful poem to write while concerned for her - and what great author's notes too :-) I can just feel your love for that precious little girl pour out from every line. :-) Brooke

That is a wonderful poem and so very sweet. The pauses and connectors give me the thought that you were pausing just to gaze at and bask in the beauty of the moment. Wonderful.

Hi Jan,

Awwwww - poor sweet little Lex!!!! So sorry to hear she is suffering with a sinus infection!

How nice that she has you to snuggle with. I'm sure she feels your unwavering strength and unconditional love! :)

Thank you for pointing up the importance of unconditional love in your author's notes.

And thank you very much for sharing your lovely tribute to Lex with us all,

Jan

A grandmother can never be accuse of being bias. The grandchild is perfect in every way. This is well written with a smooth flow of words.

Hullo Rdfrdmom ....

This is really a very beautiful piece of writing, inspired by your close proximity to your dear Grand-daughter as she lay ill beside you.
There is nothing to suggest changing and I hope that many will read what you have written in this thought-provoking work, including your very wise Notes at the end.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.

poor little thing,,,there is nothing worse than trying to soothe a sick child,,,,and also such a precious child with her knapping and holding on tightly at the same time,,,I surely hope the two of you are feeling much better,,,

Dear Baroness Jan,

My lady spoke to you of how this poem moved us. It is one of those coincidences, which are coincident only in the events, not in accident. I must explain, I have not said it well. You speak here of holding your granddaughter, and the love you feel for her, and the wish to protect and keep her by you, although it may not always be that she will stay. This spoke to me this day particularly, for last night, I held my lady so, while she slept. It was not a night of loving, I do not say that! But she slept for tiredness and I lay wakeful, and held her so, with pleasure. Although the relationship is different I know the love you describe, for Love is all, however it presents its face and facets. The holding and the tenderness spoke to me, and to my lady also, for she remembered that moment, this morning, many hours before we read your poem. She would have me say, she woke during the night, and so remembered it, not that she remembered what happened while her spirit slept. She likes me to be clear about these things. I smile, you know what she is like.

I thank you for posting this poem, my friend. It was good to read. And I thank you for your mischief, with our house. It made us both laugh. It is true, we have better ways to spend our time than standing!

Your true friend,
Louis

I am honored, milord, that you would answer. I agree that love is love. It is the tender, vulnerable moments shared with the utmost trust and absolutely nothing to hide which define the greatest loves. I know milord & milady agree.

Now, what's this about my being mischievious? Naught, milord. More like envious!!! love, jan

This is a delightfully warm little story about the love of a child. Is there any greater love for a grandparent? I think not! Beautifully written... hugs, Jack xxxxxxxx
