How about a six to start the new week? Your poem reads effortlessly and makes me want to wait for the sun to rise at daybreak and devour the early morning mist. Superb!

You have captured, quite well, the
glorious ascent of the sun, especially
when it chases away the early morning
mist. "and dawn removes the ebon veil of night,"
is a spectacular image - your phraseology is
wonderful! Good luck in the contest! Carolyn

Dawn removes the ebon veil of night <--This line alone is stunning poetry!

You have beautifully and effectively conveyed the wonderment of a new and glorious day. This makes me want to rise early and watch the miraculous sun light up my day!

Fabulous contest entry. Sure to do well!

I'll gaze upon the booth in wonderment

Oooooooooooh! Good one, my friend. Only using the 'Blue Earth' photo would improve this one! But 'disquietude'? Realy? This sort of jumped out at me, distracting from the overall flow of the piece. It somehow seems out of place.

How can one match this mistress of the form
Whose sweet Ottava Rima sets the norm.

Alright, I know its a couplet, but I don't have the time or the skill to write 8 lines right now:-)

Reg

This is great work. I love the meaning of the poem and the arrangement. You are so far beyond my literary prowess that I don't feel i can really critique your structure other than saying it seems near perfect. Well done.

A truly wonderful contest entry. I'm reminded of a Proverb that says the righteous are like the first light of dawn, growing until the full light of day. This is lovely (and yes, I know the poem and the Porverb aren't really alike, but it made me think of how we're to be like this to other people.) Belssings, Deb

Your poem has beautiful imagery and it flows nicely. I enjoyed these linesHow could disquietude or fear persist,
illuminated by a star so bright?
I gaze upon my world in wonderment,
resplendent in the glow of sun's ascent.
