I love this. It is so simple but it says so much. There was a time of innocence when we still believed in Happily Ever After. We are wiser now but sometimes the magic is still there. This is very nice Cinquain.

Brooke, it's beautiful. I love your title and your double meaning. I didn't know that cinquain should have a downward turn. I'm so glad you mentioned it. Thanks again, pat

Thanks, Pat. The turn is a traditional part of the cinquain as designed by the person who first wrote them, Adelaide Crapsey, back in the 19th Century. Brooke

Reflective cinquain is right! We wished on the first star of the evening and any falling star. I remember my older sister mooning for a true love like Marian the Librarian in the soundtrack The Music Man. (I think I wished for a pony.)LOL Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. It's a good thing there are lots more stars in the sky! Mary

This is so beautiful, Brooke, but I'm having a hard time with it because don't people wish on falling stars to begin with? If it weren't for that annoying fact, I'd say it was exceptionally superb!! But I can't get past that! Thanks for sharing, and take care,
heather

I actually did that deliberately as an ironic use of the word "fall" in light of the fact that falling or shooting stars are considered lucky. I guess it backfired between my writing and your reading. LOL :-) Thanks, Heather. Brooke

Beautiful poem and photo. Well written and I enjoyed reading. Just a few words and it holds so much power and send a message across just the same as a long poem! I love it. Well done :-) Dawn

Beautiful art work and words written. I loved the way how the stars, looked like falling.
I felt every word written here and the art work would encourage children to believe in the stars maybe falling? and what a wonderful feeling and imagination for a child to have.

I loved this one Brooke. Nicely done. Beautiful artwork also.
Glad to see you still working away at these poems. I'm trying my hardest to cut the cord that F/S has me attached too. LOL.
I'm spending way too much time online. So, I might not post anything for a while. Cheers my friend.

'Strike me lucky.' Hope you wern't standing underneath that falling star. I liked your little poem. Good old Walt Disney comes to mind - When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are...' Thanks for sharing your little twinkle today.

Thanks, Kay. I'm glad Disney came to mind as that was my intention - hope you're off to a good start for this week :-) Brooke

Told you I was a psychic! How goes it in your neck of the woods? Suppose you are sunning yourself on the patio deck chair, laptop in hand answering silly questions from aspiring poets? Do you have a large tiled area at the back of the house? LOL, Kay.

I live in an apartment complex and don't own a laptop! LOL I'm in here on my low-end eMac desktop computer, but I like your scenario better!!! :-)

For some reason I see pinkish coloured tiles?

melancholy, cute, and with a perfectly positioned rhyme to cap off proceedings! I fear I'm writing short reviews today, Brooke, as I've a mountain of PMs to climb. Be sure I'm reading everything thoroughly though :-)
