Nicely done. I like the images very much, especially the wine image. I thought the last stanza, although good, did not have the impact of the first two. The images got a little general purpose.
I've got to try writing one of these.

thank you for your thoughtful review, Brooke

I believe you have reposted this, Brooke, since it is your first minute poem, and there have been others lately. Does this mean this is a repost, or does Fanstory look back through earlier postings and run them again? As always, this is a lovely poem. Your first minute poem is colorful and carefree as it lauds the beautiful honeysuckle and your use of the gorgeous picture deserves praise. Lyla

I have not reposted any poems - this one expires tomorrow morning at 10:30, Lyla. I wrote the others right on the heels of this one. Thanks, Brooke

Beautiful! Honeysuckle grew all over my great grandmothers property. The red honeysuckle that is. I always loved it and the smell is so divine. When we bought our house, I told my husband maybe I should figure out if we can plant it. We moved into the house in November. When spring rolled around I was presently surprised to see on tiny bush in front of my house. You are so right about it being sweet ambrosia, for the only time I see butterflies is on that bush.

Deb, thank you - trees? I had no idea. glad you enjoyed, Brooke

yeah, trees! Their honeysuckle blossoms look just like the ones on the vine except maybe a bit more delicate. They're beautiful. I'll try & get a picture of one this spring.

This is a breath of sweet, springtime air. The photo is perfect, and your poem is like a dance through a garden.
I like the green font on yellow background. It's so summery!
Lovely. It makes me even more anxious for flower to poke up from the ground.

rama devi, every time I see your name I smile - that stinks that you have limited internet access, but I am glad to know you are doing what you need to heal. I'm so glad you enjoyed this uplifting poem. Thanks so much for stopping by, Brooke

Beautifully written minute, with a summery feel and cheerful, colorful presentation and picture. Perfect execution of the form requirements. As a child, we had lots of honeysuckles in our neighborhood and I loved to get those fresh drops of honey on my tongue...yummm..savory, nature's food at its best. I wasn't aware hummingbirds and butterflies also got free sips. I thought they were just for us...lol.
Enjoyed your minute. Excellent contest entry. Wishing you the best of luck...;0)

I used to grab some Honeysuckle and suck out its sweet gift from a lane on the way to school. This is a beautiful poem with a feel which makes me smile.
