Artwork perfects poetry and vice versa--can't imagine one without the other. Did have a chuckle over somebody with the last name of Crapsey developing any kind of poetry; way too easy to word play! No suggestions or corrections, later and God bless, shy

Yes, that is darned funny about her name - I imagine her as this librarian spinster made fun of all the time by the neighborhood kids, which would be why she invented a form that has a downturn. LOL Thanks, brooke

You have painted a lovely picture here, Brooke.

I live in the south and get snow (if that's what you want to call an inch or so) every couple years. ;) I miss the snow drifts you write of.

Such wonderful imagery.
You chose great accompanying artwork.

Brrrr... The weather outside is frightful...

On years we don't get much snow accumulation, I don't miss it at all! LOL Thanks so much, Brooke

Hi Pearly One,
I smiled when I read your entry! :-) My goodness, you must have some pretty big snow drifts out your way! They sometimes can get huge around here too, though no often.
Nice poem. Good job.

You got my vote! I love this poem. I love the snow. I love spending quiet weekends reading by the windows watching the snow cover everything (and knowing that I can enjoy it without driving in it!)

This is a perfect classic cinquain poem, building and then changing mood in so few words in so few lines. This is beautiful and the artwork is sublime. Thanks for sharing this sentiment. mslyla

This is a lovely and pristine cinquant in the falling snow. Very pristine and eloquent, especially in this season. Best of luck in the contest.

Brooke,

You have transported me back to the cold of ND and the memories of the drifting snow. I remember many a day as you have descibed. A well written cinquain. Wish you the best of luck. k

adewpearl,

Nicely done cinquain with all elements well done. Imagery is strong and the body of the poem emphasizes its title. Good luck in the contest.

It was my introduction to the form, too- my first attempt because I entered a friend's contest - thanks so much, brooke!
