Winter does make for lonely park benches except when it is filled by the homeless. I enjoyed the haiku and the picture fit nicely.

I had a taste of that as I was stranded at Chicago's O'Hare this summer. Thank you very much for your compliments and this review. Mike

One can sense the barren feeling of cold winter in this Haiku format. Good choice of vocabulary projects very good imagery. LadyMary

This is a lovely Haiku. I enjoyed it very much. With so few words you painted a picture and that is awesome. Good luck with this contest.

Very well written. We do save up our passion for the winter and in the spring a beautiful, bouncing baby is there. Enjoyed it.

This definitely has a sense of "sabi." However, haiku should be about one season, and you have two seasons here--"winter" and "spring." You do have two interconnected lines of concrete imagery and one line of insight.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

I have not found that only one season can be represented in either the rules or research. My apologies then. Generally the talk is about nature, not specifically seasons. I will keep an eye out for memntion of this in my studies and travels. Thank you for your review.

There is, I believe, in Jane Reichhold's book "Writing and Enjoying Haiku" a discussion of the double kigo.

I THINK THIS IS A VERY GOOD HAIKU POEM. IT EXPLORES THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WINTER, SPRING AND PASSION. I LIKE THE SIMPLE DICTION, AND THE VEILED MESSAGE OF HOPE CONTAINED IN THE POEM KUDOS.
