Yay, Jannypan! This war history tribute is for you and all the soldiers who fought in the war and lived on in our hearts and minds. They are the true believers who fight the good fight on and on until one day we will find peaceful contentment and deliverance from all evil.

Hello Jesse, Yes, Jannypan came to mind and because she is in heaven I thought to write a poem to honor the fallen, she always did. She passed too quickly but still with us all. K xx

You set a chilling scene in which the living pay their respects to the dead and yet, into this poignancy and cold wind, you infuse the warmth and comfort of the sun and your deep faith. Though the competing poems were all good, this took a lot of gumption to write and thank you!
Now to this poem!
Jan and I connected through the political forum. We became good friends and conversed often through pm and email.
Though she thought quite diametrically from my political beliefs, we respected each other and she was well respected in the political forum except for one or two who , actually, respected no one.
The things Jan and I had in common far outweighed any disagreements over political discourse.
One, was our military. Both she and I had dealing and had/ have become involved in veterans and The Veterans Administration.
As a caregiver to my ex who is a Viet Nam Vet and my two older sons who are also vets, I have become passionate and a staunch advocate for their care and their stability. Up until a year or so, I volunteered weekly at our Veteran!s Administration and have learned such a great deal.
One thing Jan would be excited about is Biden's administration introduced The Pact Act.
The PACT Act is a law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. This law helps us provide generations of Veterans--and their survivors--with the care and benefits they've earned and deserve.
The new 2024 proposal mandatory funding includes $160.0 billion in traditional benefits to Veterans, plus $1.9 billion for construction and $20.3 billion for the Cost of War Toxic Exposures Fund (TEF). VA anticipates supporting 453,824 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) staff in 2024 using all funding sources.
Also their disability benefits are being raised.
This is exciting news and a far cry from an orange buffoon who labeled veterans as losers(the late John McCain).
Thank you for bringing to the forefront the immense sacrifices our soldiers and other countries soldiers make for freedom and democracy.
You are truly the best.

Did you get the Easter card I sent? It was a Email card. I'm glad I brought your memories of Jan back. Pity they couldn't have the money for Agent Orange when it happened. So many continued to die from cancer. Unlike you, we are not into politics. Being a small country with only 7 states. Each state governs itself. With any friendship, if we can put aside our own beliefs and respect others, that is true friendship. Have a look in spam for your Easter card? love Kace XXX
