This is an interesting story featuring a lot of Henny Youngman. How come his jokes are so memorable when they mean nothing, except maybe an irritated wife.

I always loved and respected my wife. I never idolized anyone who made fun of women. That's why I spoofed Rodney in this tale.

Oh, geez. This is just delightful; I mean it. This gave me some fun laughs, a lot of nostalgia, and just that overall warm-fuzzy feeling.
That change-your-name joke I heard at a club several decades ago, but that comic's name was Michael Floorwax (he'd changed it from John Floorwax...) It's one of those timeless, always-funny varieties that I love. The quintessential 'never gets old.'
I hope this does great in the contest!! xo
Thank you for this fun post. I thoroughly enjoyed myself...you know, at your and your wife's expense, but hey, that's showbiz, Baby!!

And no doubt they will return her none the worse for wear. (borrowed, afterall)
Nice entry. I expect everyone else will write about some object and their neighbor or brother-in-law.
Good luck in the contest.

This is so funny and punny, mystery writer. I especially loved the ending. You did a wonderful job for the prompt. The videos are most appreciated too. Il will watch for the contest. Sending you my best today as always and my very best wishes in the upcoming vote.

I remember all the comedy lines but never anything quite that elaborate like the aliens coming to literally take his wife. You took a fun spin on the "borrowed" concept. Best wishes in the contest!

That was hilarious! I loved it. And I hadn't heard any of those jokes before, so carry on 'borrowing' them! LOL. I loved the name, and the one about the wife. You just never know who is listening in, do you? LOL Well done, this is a great contest entry. Good luck. :)) Sandra xx

Haha! This was enjoyable! Everyone of your jokes was new to me and great fun. A couple of small edits: In event they had ray blasters (is there a word missing here?). Also, (Jurassic) Park. But this is an excellent post for the contest. I like the way you've used the 'borrowed' prompt to describe your use of the jokes. A strong contender! Good luck! Debbie

I enjoyed having a laugh during the late afternoon. Thanks for reminding me of Henry Youngman. I also enjoyed his style of comedy. This is a creative idea and humorous entry for the contest, and I wish you the best.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us. I enjoyed reading and it is very well written. I guess my only question is why is it on the poetry side of the house when it's clearly pose?
