As a child with no immediate family to care for him and nurture him, I definitely believe your greatest fear would be losing the one man who volunteered to feed you and was good enough to talk to you as a person. I remember your book. I thoroughly enjoyed it (enjoyed isn't the right word). I was swept up in it. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen

This piece was absolutely impeccable. I think it felt like a conversation, but a long conversation you have when you meet someone new and start shedding parts of yourself for them to see and observe.
