This is an excellent example of how outside and internal influences work together to form who the writer will ultimately become. Two different people undergoing identical circumstances will not in most cases react in the same way. Which is a beautiful statement in favor of stress making the artist more creative than its absence.

Hi Debbie, your poem regarding T.S. Elliot is excellent, and your writing is a cut above the rest. I didn't learn or know of TS until my son was in a high school academy. They studied TS, and I just read some of the books for fun--why not? I've paid for them.

Your poem reads and flows exceptionally well, and is a wealth of information. Of special note:

In London, poet, Ezra Pound, compellingly declared
that Eliot, a man to watch, would soar to lofty fame.

(Ezra was correct. I've also read about her and her days in Paris--that was such a magical time.)

Your poem contains silky rhyming from the first line to the very last line.
This poem is a classical work of art. You should be very proud of yourself. Thank you for your research and informative author's notes.
Exceptional writing is the only word to call this. Margaret ~ LateBloomer

T.S. Elliot is awesome. I enjoyed this poem that looked at the life of one of the greats. It's always good to see the context in which poems were written.

Stunning capture of the man's existence and the purpose of his work and life. We studied Eliot and others in college, but it is only the facts and history of his writings, especially The Wasteland, that I recall.

Another great poem Debbie and so informative about TS Elliot the man, the poet and his writing. I tend to think you have to have suffered to become a famous poet because so many of them seemed to. Or perhaps their emotions always led them. Great presentation of poem and notes. Cheers

Another winner. Such attention to detail. You are great. Now about me! I want to make a contest. I thought maybe I would have people kill me. They could do it with kindness, or a steamroller. Maybe have me get entangled in my support hose, and have me hurdle down the stairs, anything. But it must make me laugh. Do you think anyone would sign up?Would you? Karen

Thank you so much, Karen for this wonderful review! I'm very grateful for your lovely comments. As for the idea of a contest with a brief to kill you, I think it sounds great. Not that I would want you killed. But I'm sure there are some very imaginative minds out there. Personally, I think a slow death with plenty of humour so that it doesn't get too gory. I always loved When Death Becomes Her in which vanity is punished, resulting in some weirdly cruel transformations. With death/suicide as an outcome. I'll think about it. Debbie

I read your Conversion poem through the ending and throughout it was trying to remember who was the name on its title. Your attached stanza notes really brought a better picture in my mind. Thank you for Sharing your Poetic History

I am learning so much about these famous literary figures through your brilliant poetry and notes. How you can transform sucha complex life into a very readable and expressive poem with excellent rhyme and metre is a marvel. Your additional notes are very valuable.

another masterful tribute poem. TS Elliot is one of my favorite Poets. I loved his Cats poems the best, the Waste Land was a bit hard to figure out at first.
