This is a powerful poem but I don't quite get your reference to Psalm 121 as it implies that help 'cometh from the Lord' not politicians. The rhyming in this poem is good but the rhythm is rather inconsistent varying from five to ten beats per line. I would have tried to make that more regular as a constant rhythm makes a poem easier to read out loud with a good flow. Good luck in the contest

good analogy! Praying is good, but if Americans don't VOTE FOR CHANGE, and that means conservative ( I can't say Republican because they are not acting like Republicans) - if they don't get off their duffs and vote, we won't have a country.

You make a good point here Laura. The struggle for power in this world is a constant battle and each country has to protect themselves and it is expensive too. And the people at home are neglected. I don't think Canada is involved in war just now. I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x x x

We sent a lot of money and weapons to Ukraine and recently money we don't have and billions for aid to the Middle East war. Canadian/ Israel soldiers are fighting and we feel it all here, sometimes I wish there was no news or internet but I wouldn't like to be back in the 18th century eitherThanks for reviewing. Hope your day is good. Laura

This poem, Our Money for War, presented with seven rhyming couplets, rekindles the question about how the barrel of money is bottomless for war, but ne'er a cent for the public at large.

The world is so complicated today. Our only hope is to pray to practice our religion as Jesus did. We must each grow where we are planted and attempt to make the world a better place where we live; still we can never forget our neighbors. I know it sounds naïve, but I must believe that love and caring will win in the end. I did read Psalm 121. Thanks for writing. ann
