This is a fine acrostic poem here. You have touched on the poignant plight of the veteran returned home to meet with disdain and/or lack of concern.
It is shameful treatment of those who served.
Very, very well done. :)

Hi Kym,
This is a well done acrostic which tells the plight of a wounded soldier.
Probably homeless because of PTSD and unemployment. He should get so much more help than he did. This is true of a lot of vets. He seems to give honor to those who fought with him and should have that honor returned to him

It is a pity that these vets are homeless and struggle to integrate themselves back into a normal life because of mental illness or just neglect. A poignant acrostic full of bravery to carry on the fight, love Dolly x x x

This is a very good crowd, acrostic that you have written for the contest I wish you the very best in the contest. The one problem that I have with it is that you have used too dark background with the darker font. Patricia

Excellent poem in honor of veterans. It's a good social commentary about the way we treat soldiers who sacrifice for our country... whichever that be...and we treat them so bsdly...it's sad. Well done.

Yes, all Veterans have a hard time once they return back home. They have no home to go back to while they are away their families forget who they are and their wives sometimes leave them for another who lives back in the States.
The picture you chose exemplifies the way it sometimes is for them and I applaud you for speaking out for them even though you are not a Veteran yourself!

A candid look into the lives of the homeless. Sadly they're multiplying and compassion is dwindling. I would say that's not a good combination. This is an excellent awareness piece, Kapot! Best, JohnC

At first read, I could not figure out what it was you wrote of, and then I re-read the intro above the title, and thank you for thinking of these veterans.
Well done.

A heartfelt piece. You use the initial letters cleverly and naturally. Love 'rain-slapped grass'. An evocative phrase. Just a typo on 'achieve'. Thanks for sharing this important message.
