A fun little story which portrays sibling rivalry in a fun and humorous way which all kids will identify with. very relatable. I like the story within a story aspect too. Well done.

Hi John,
This is a really good children's story, though I think it strikes a chord with the rest of us grown-ups. I think it would make a really good contest. Your story was very clever and terribly original.

Have a great week,
Rhonda

This is an absolutely adorable spin on a much loved children's classic. Well done. It was a lot of fun to see the personalities, and I could see this being an exceptional illustrated book for young readers. Great job!

Wow. You can see this as a children?s book? That was/is my goal. I have a few stories with Mango & Bert.

Thank you for the uplifting and positive review!

    Cheers,

I absolutely can. I'd love to read more about Mango and Bert. It's a fresh fun twist on nostalgic gold. Who wouldn't love reading this to their littles?

This is very creative and was fun to read. Thank you for sharing this with us.

The next morning, Mango sat down to a delightful breakfast of kibble pancakes smothered in beef gravy. (Maybe - The following morning, Mango sat to a delightful breakfast of kibble pancakes smothered in beef gravy.)

So cute! This is a jolly little tale featuring a cheerful collection of animals. The dynamics of the two little families are very true to life for a lot of humans. It is cleverly written and flows well for children of all ages. (I can happily say I have never completely grown up.) :-)

Hi John, a fun story. I could feel the adventure from within. Of note:

--"Momma, did you hear that? Dickory called me yuck."

(That reminded me of my own kids. The only thing that could have been possibly worse was if they were sitting next to each other in a car, and they touched each other. Oh my goodness, what a catastrophe that would nave been.)

--One time he came home with rainbow colored cotton candy.

(My grandkids would love if their dad brought home colored cotton candy for dinner. Oh dandy!)

Hickory was nowhere to he found.

A fun ending. Now we know where the Hickory, Dickory, Dock rhyme has come from. Good imagery in that scene as well. Well done. M
(As parents, we all know that fear)

Oh the car rides? we had three in the back and most times it was okay till they started playing "punch buggy".

Thank you Margaret for reading and sharing,

A very amusing tale, one children ought to enjoy. Are you going to continue the "Mango and Bert" stories? If so, keep them in the same vein. Keep the language and situations just as they are now. No major concerns.

What a cute story you came up with. There is so much talent on this site. I enjoy reading the creative stories that are posted on here. This would make a great children's book but not sure how or if that would be legal. Not sure how tight copyright issues would be. Nicely done.

This was a really cute story. That little beagle is good writer. He might win a contest. I laughed with Dock said "Mom, he called me yuck." That reminded me of my twins when that were little. Christi said, "Don called me Shut up."
