Well Sally Law, I must thank you for that trip down memory lane. I am 68 years old and I remember many of those old songs. I enjoyed the music of the 50's, 60's, and 70's. You brought a big smile watching American Bandstand, on YouTube.

Nice choice, Sally. Yes, at 12 years old you had fine taste in music. I was 18, freshly graduated from high school, and looking for a way out of my dad's iron fist... Music was my rock. My life took a real sharp turn (from one fire to another), but God and music got me through it. Thanks for sharing. Smiles as always, Carol

You will probably be shocked that in Australia this wasn't his highest rated song. We went more for Sweet Caroline, Cracklin' Rosie and Holly Holy. Nevertheless we loved his voice and his style, and all these are still played on the older style music stations on the radio. Good choice!

I used to get home from school in the 6th grade in 1959, grab a Pepsi and watch American Bandstand. I don't have any idea where everyone else was. I had the room to myself so I could practice the Bristol Stomp. There was even a teen magazine that featured certain couples.
This is an aside, but did you know Tom Jones just released a new album? It's called Surrounded By Time

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and kind compliments. I used to adore Tom Jones, and watched his show. However, he admitted to sleeping with over 250 women a year while he was still married during his heyday. I can't even listen to him anymore as this is criminal to me. He will not be in my lineup.
Neil has just announced he has Parkinson's disease and will not be performing anymore. I was saddened by this, and have another song or two in my lineup for him. Sending you my best today as always,

Thank you for introducing me to that song, Sally! You're only two years older than me but you were listening to these songs before I started listening. My husband heard the music from your video and he found Neil Diamond's Cherry, Cherry, and there are strikingly similar elements. It's like he revisited that 1967 song and made it better.

Neil Diamond is the perfect example of an artist you isn't a great singer. But, with his growly voice that drives the ladies wild and lyrics that almost everyone can relate to, his popularity over time has had no limits. Thanks for sharing.
