Absolutely stunning work!! What a fun way to explain bigotry and differences among us! I love this and would see it in a childrens' book if I could. It made me smile and chuckle - I read it over and over. Delightful work, dear Poet.

Dear Sherry, your review is top-notch and makes me so happy! I deeply appreciate all of your very encouraging comments, and that you wrote so many awesome things about my children's story. And I am a poet, too -- along with most of us, on this site, but I find that to be a compliment, as well. The lesson about bigotry flowed naturally as I imagined the story, which is the way that most writers wish it would usually happen -- and that I wish would happen more often -- maybe the answer is just to write more! I think your best compliment was that you read it over and over. That really makes my day!

This is a really cute story for which you chose the letter P. You much have had fun writing this one and all the words you chose worked great to make it a pleasure to read. Good luck with the contest.

Thank you very much, Beth, for the beautiful review and bountiful compliments. Yes, I did have a blast, barking out the -- woops, wrong letter :-)
I'm happy that you enjoyed my children's story.

And you even had the P for Pixabay! Lol. This is a really good story with the chosen letter P working perfectly for you. I loved the puppy patrolling the park, and why not? Well done, I think this is a great story, one that children would enjoy, too. Good luck in the contest. :)) SAndra xx

Thank you, Sandra, for your excellent review, your uplifting remarks and for noticing the "P" in "Pixabay," which somehow escaped me! I am very much a dog lover, so it wasn't hard to imagine these dogs and puppies thinking and talking as humans do -- yes, the puppy patrolling the park was one of my favorite parts, too -- she was playing "beat cop, K9 version." Anthropomorphizing? Absolutely!

What a pleasure to peruse and ponder the perplexities of your portrayal of this pooch party. Not only is it perfectly delightful in and of itself, but I can see this being used in so many ways to teach vocabulary to kids. I think its in a positive position for first prize!

Hi,
I read through this choose a letter contest entry.
Then Paula put a paw on her Mama(prettier parent)?.
(Ha! I see you have chosen the letter P for this tale. The challenge is fun, and when I saw Mama, I thought to myself... is there a way to change Mama to a P word... Though... I'm not actually suggesting you change Mama to prettier parent. Just figured to share the P word I could come up for Mama. So far, I was able to quickly jump aboard the scene and context. This makes for a sound children-friendly tale)
"What pug put that puzzling piece of fiction(poppycock, perjury)? into your puppy (again, not an actual suggestion, mentioned because I was having fun with the tale and thought of a p alternative to fiction that might be useful, but if not... was me having fun reading along)
"She is just a pip squeak(pipsqueak) pup, who doesn't know better,"
(I think pipsqueak is one word)
said Mama. "Did Priscilla the pointer pup point her tail(posterior)? at a poodle?" (again, me having fun thinking of a P word that might fit... if liked)
the whole place, and Paula joined the pandemonium, propelling slippers
(Like the use of pandemonium, here)
But Mr. and Mrs. Plopper erupted in peals of laughter(platitude)?
(Another P possibility... but also a pause to appreciate the nice balance of motion and dialogue through the piece)
Very strong entry here. Fun use of Pets for children loaded with p words.

Thank you, Turtle, for your fantastic, detailed review and excellent rating. There is nothing wrong with making suggestions! Although I can't change the story while the contest is in progress, I may decide to use some of them later... and yes, I looked it up, "pipsqueak" is one word -- thank you. It's nice to have someone else checking my work (I haven't written a lot lately, so it's usually the other way around.)
I really appreciate your thoughtful observations and upbeat encouragement.

A particularly pleasant piece! Yes, I am partial to pups. That's all I can do with P, so congratulations on your very smooth piece of writing, unforced, and keeping the interest of the reader to the end. Best wishes for the contest!

Perhaps pooches put purloining their pups, putting pearls in percutaneous perfunctory presence and also plucked and planked its plunking paw...perhaps? Beautifully written my friend, extreme alliteration never hurt a good entry, good luck, blessings Roy

Charming--a tour de force of alliteration--this will surely delight kids--stunning choice of words, including "grown-up" ones--purloined ... pandemonium ... perplexed ... profusely --thus this delightful story doesn't "talk down" to the young ones. Wise message about inclusion! Delightful piece--I peg this as a winner. Cheers. LIZ

I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author. You did a great job highlighting the letter 'p' in your fun story. I like the descriptive use of color words for the slippers and those of the other names of the pooches. Your story has a teaching point too--don't judge others before you get to know them. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan
