This is a very delightful poem. The form and rhyme enhances the piece. I'm not sure if I like the word poacher. It is an illegal hunter. I think burglar would be better - it's still two syllables and not necessarily violent like robber.

Barbara, thank you so much :-) You think of a burglar as more legal or less violent than a poacher? Brooke

I think that it goes better with stealing kisses than a poacher. Most thieves are sneaky, not violent. Robbers and Robbery involve violence, thieves and burglars do not. I double check the definition before I suggested it.

well, I have a story where a stolen kiss is a crime, but maybe I had best not tell it here. . .(yeah, I know, I am a coward and a charlatan for leading on)

I like the feel of this poem, as always. . .good work

A lovely verse, my friend. If music be the food of love, then play on, maestro. Great choice of repeating lines, as they fit the conceit perfectly. The gangster of love will appreciate such sweet sentiments.

Oh, this is such a cute picture. The poem is sweet, but I'm not so sure Sawyer is convinced that a stolen kiss is not a crime! Love it. Miss Sally

Give Sawyer ten years and he will pay more attention to the young lady. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

The funny thing, Charlie, is when she's not around, he talks about her all the time. I've personally witnessed him pretend phone calling her dozens of times. LOL Thanks so much, my friend. Brooke :-)

This is the cutest picture. Sawyer is probably wondering what is Chloe up to, "I'll allow her to have her way if she doesn't get in my line of vision here to see...." I love it as well as that lovely poem that gets right to the heart of the situation.

This is a delightful poem and perfect for upcoming Valentine's Day. I really like how you were able to fit it into the triolet format.
My favoritie line is one of your refrains: "if love is in the poacher's heart."
Good luck in the contest, Brooke.

Hi Brooke
This poem and picture reminded me of a song sung by Peter Paul & Mary (with Andy Williams) many years ago... "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine".

I love the triolet form, perhaps time to write one of these too.
Your poems are cheering me up this afternoon...I had a cyst removed from my back this morning, and the freezing is coming out now...oh the pain! I need a kiss.
I like the repeating line,
"A stolen kiss is not a crime
if love is in the poacher's heart." ...Terrific idea to name the kiss stealer a "poacher". Looks like Sawyer has his first girlfriend.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the contest!
your fan,
Kimbob

Kimbob, thank you so much. I complained after your last review when they wouldn't let me nominate you, so this time I know they'll let me. LOL :-) I'm sorry to hear about your cyst and the pain. I'm sending you a friendly virtual kiss right through my computer screen :-) Chloe and Sawyer are quite the item. LOL Brooke

Hi Brooke,

A kiss stolen is no offence, though some these days might like to make it so. Well said in your little triolet, the innocence of childhood passes all to rapidly these days.

Kiss-thieves. I used to be one of them when I was younger. Funny that I practically never asked a girl on a date. lol. I kissed them somehow first. Well, but I'm Brazilian-American-British-French, so...lol.
