Roy, I have never seriously suffered from this dread disease, but I suspect a bad case of it may be a little harder to heal than your poem suggests.
However, I applaud this fun look at writer's block with its light-hearted tone and strong rhyme and meter.

good use of abcb rhyming
good internal rhyme of flow/slows and quill's still
and pen again
and alliteration in drought of dreams
and poise your pen
excellent use of imagery in conveying your message of reassurance to those who's muse has abandoned them temporarily :-) Brooke

Hi Roy, this beautiful poem is a great addition to your growing portfolio my friend, love the metaphor of the dry river which is then linked to the flow that slows, inspirational words my friend.

Hi, Roy,
This was a lot of fun. Every once in a while, that virus does hit!
The day after Thanksgiving here, and I'm exhausted. The twins have worn Grandma out. No, actually, the cooking has worn me out! Today----leftovers!
Cheers & Blessings

An inspirational poem, Roy. It's as simple as what you say, and as complex as emotional states make it. Great metaphor about the drying river..followed through nicely with drought, and flow again. Love that you've slipped in 'souls's repose' and 'revelation'.

Cute! Hits the funny bone in a thought provoking way.
Relevant to everyone....
"It's merely soul's repose" - sometimes a break could lead to a different way of thinking and writing.
A memorable read.

I love poems that rhyme. I also enjoy poems that inspire. I lke your analogy of inspiration to water. This poem was water to my soul.
