I'm sure you're getting even better at this cute and whimsy style.

Not just 'cute' like some, but superior to most, in thought, meter, rhymes and wit.

Every stanza a winner, and not a weak line amongst them

I love the simple abab rhyme of this one. I also love that you offered so many options for who/what created the golden coverlet, but in the end left the answer for the reader to decide. Lovely work with this and stunning photo to go with it too.

Brooke - this is beautiful. Lovely use of metaphor in 'golden coverlet' - and personification of the sun. Nice way you used the monarch butterfly in this verse and personification of the dawn, who ruled the skies. A really lovely poem in good abab rhyme and a very nice read. Kind regards Dorothy x

Yes, a stunning photo, presentation and title. Your alternating rhymes in these quatrains are wonderful. I relished the "coverlet" metaphor plus your use of personification and alliteration. Your play on "monarch" was choice! Many cheers- Joan
