Fabulous poem, Brooke.
I'm sure you're getting even better at this cute and whimsy style.
Not just 'cute' like some, but superior to most, in thought, meter, rhymes and wit.
Every stanza a winner, and not a weak line amongst them
VERY enjoyable and so clever write.

Ray, I'll take "cute" any day :-) Unless, of course, I write a poem about the horrors of war, at which point I will be duly offended. LOL Thank you, my friend :-) Brooke

The golden coverlet was there --
of that I never had a doubt.
Who wove this cloth with skill so rare,
I leave to you to figure out.
Its a master piece, exactly like your amazing poem. One never has enough reading your poems, so positive, so so well written by an artist.
Miss Sawyer. But will see him next time. Beautiful Brooke. Love Terry xoxo
I never have enough sixes , sorry. xo

Hi Brooke,
Lovely poem again, celebrating a lovel flower (not your usual dandelions I note) in the golden petals of the rose.

I love the simple abab rhyme of this one. I also love that you offered so many options for who/what created the golden coverlet, but in the end left the answer for the reader to decide. Lovely work with this and stunning photo to go with it too.

Brooke - this is beautiful. Lovely use of metaphor in 'golden coverlet' - and personification of the sun. Nice way you used the monarch butterfly in this verse and personification of the dawn, who ruled the skies. A really lovely poem in good abab rhyme and a very nice read. Kind regards Dorothy x

You captured the beauty of the earth, in all the golden aspects and left the reading with a question.
I know... the rose petals, the leaves, and the blossoms.
Excellent quatrains, a little magic, and a lot of beauty.

Yes, a stunning photo, presentation and title. Your alternating rhymes in these quatrains are wonderful. I relished the "coverlet" metaphor plus your use of personification and alliteration. Your play on "monarch" was choice! Many cheers- Joan

Some mysteries don't need figuring out, just need to be enjoyed at their coming out.
I think I need a cupful of whatever you're drinking for inspiration.
Very well done as always, Buck
