What a simple yet deeply meaningful promise of love... what more could a man ask? except maybe a clean house, hot meals, and lots of sex! I know I know... shut up jarls! I am not meaning to trivialize this marvelous poem I think it is grand! As always! Miss ya! -Michael

Michael, you want hot meals and hot sex??? Hell, if I'm going to take cooking lessons I'm NOT going to have time to vacuum, too. You have me sitting here shaking with laughter. :-) Thank you, dear friend. Brooke :-)

This is exactly why I think a man should have three wives, one to cook, one to clean and one to... ah well you get my point. And duties could change day to day that way it's fair for all.

Another beautiful poem well written with so much feeling & imagery. I like the warmth you have conveyed with "the softest quilt". I have made many & can relate to this. I will add it to my favorites that you have shared.

Beautiful flowing metered work. Nice little form and such a lovely voice that sings the song. You do have a lovely poetic voice, my dear, always a pleasure to read.

The love in every single word you wrote touched my heart and I hope many others...This is the best!
For the New Year, I hope to be able to learn from you and the other poets and in some small way offer a bit of myself through poetry. You are outstanding and so is your talent...
Hugs and smiles, my friend

Oh, this is delightful.
As I read it, I could hear it sung in my ear.
Wish I were a musician, I would immediately set it to music.
Love the closing:
I simply promise I'll enfold
your heart in mine against the cold.
Such a delightful love verse.

Brooke,
Oh My God, your poem is exceptional and well executed. A six star romantic rispetto. I read it aloud to my family they loved it. This poem "Were I a Seamstress" gets my "freaking awesome" award. So romantic and the rhymes are perfection. The imagery was fantastic. I love the line:
'I simply promise I'll enfold
your heart in mine against the cold. '
I use my two sixes, but I'll try to remember to update this to a six on Sunday when we get 2 sixes.
Melissa.

Brooke,
This is a very romantic poem! I love the final offering of your heart to the one you love. The gift you offer is the most valuable and meaningful.
Great style of writing with depth and affection woven in like a true seamstress. The soft photo adds so much to the overall mood and presentation! Good choice!
Thanks for sharing this with me.

you are truly great and you are number one. what a wonderful read. what i like about most of your poem is that they aren't lengthy. to me, and my short span mind (where poetry is concerned) a lengthy poem tends to lose its effect or main point. that's of course just about my personal experience since i'm not much of a poet. enjoyed this. :)

Nora, thank you - I must admit the long poems usually start to lose me too unless they're really cool story poems. It's like - how many blasted verses can someone use to describe one rose? LOL Brooke :-)

One of the best love poems I've ever read -- anywhere. This strikes such a chord with my heart. Such a beauty -- try to publish, okay? Deb
