This is a beautiful poem, Roy, It says everything that we need to be reminded of at times. The way the world is going, we need to have His love and we need to keep our faith. Wonderful words, and a pleasure to read. :) sandra

Hi Roy, what a beautifully written spiritual poem to wake up to on a Sunday morning my friend, I woke at 7 am, the sun was streaming through the windows, as I was having breakfast the church bells began to ring, that was when I started reading your wonderful poem, great rhyme and rhythm, great flow and a great message for the sabbath.

The Lord inhibits the praises of His people. In song, poetry, music, or how ever one deems to do it. I certainly enjoyed this poem . " If I be lifted up, I shall draw all men unto me." HE LIVES+

For blooms that grow in desert sand,
By rains that fall on arid land. .. I saw an underlying image in this - we, his children are the arid land watered by the Living Waters and blooming by the power of the Spirit.
Another grand, yet simple poetic affirmation of scripture and faith. Greatly enjoyed by this reader, Roy.
Have a blessed Sabbath, friend. God bless you.

Very well written as usual Roy.
Although I am not religious, I am very familiar I thought with the teachings and references from the bible . Can you clarify the reference to the verse:
Creation in Himself converged,
All sickness, sin, His blood submerged,
This Jesus died upon that tree,
By love we join, by faith agree.
Did Jesus not die on a cross?
Other than my question, it is rhythmically spot on only the last two lines that is not perfect rhyme but then again who cares it still reads well
thanks for posting

Ah but He rose again, He lives, the blood cleanses our sin, the stripes He received from the 39 stripes, from a cat-of- ninetales was laced with metal and stones, which tore strips of flesh off His back, before he was even crucified, medical reports say He would have had very little blood left in Him, at the point of death, it's the sacrifice that brings salvation, it was necessary price to pay, read, Isaiah 53:2-5 1 Peter 2:24,
Thanks for the great review, Dip. Blessings, Roy.
-
the point I was actually making Roy was more that it was a cross of dressed wood not a tree as I read in your description lol
with respect dip
-
1 Peter 2:24 calls it a tree, but I must have been a cross, but in a poem it is permissible, it really doesn't matter, it's also metaphorically sound! Roy.
-
now don't you get all CROSS on me now!! lol

A strong poem of religious faith, bound together in a neat package of rhythm and rhyme that carries the reader swiftly from the catchy opening stanza to the strong final couplet.
